DVI Matrix Switchers with Total EDID Manager

The Linx™ family of DVI routing switchers expands with a new model offered in 8x4, 4x8 and 8x8 versions. The Linx 800 is a high performance, non-blocking switcher designed to simplify system integration. Each unit delivers pure digital switching and routing of DVI and HDMITM signals with full pixel reclocking. When combined with digital signal sources, digital displays and cabling, it allows fully digital end-to-end signal distribution.

 

Each DVI input accepts signals up to 1920 x 1200 and 2048 x 1152. A modular architecture simplifies I/O card replacement should it ever be needed.

 

In addition to switching video, the Linx 800 supports pass-through EDID. It also provides programmable or manual override of EDID with Total EDID Manager™. HDCP is supported, allowing content-protected HDMITM signals. An HDCP encoded signal can be routed to up to all 8 outputs simultaneously. Embedded audio and 12-bit Deep Color are also supported.

Maintaining digital signal integrity is crucial in a digital switcher. The Linx family is unique among DVI switchers in providing signal fidelity. Jitter and signal distortion errors are corrected with precision pixel reclocking, resulting in pristine digital images.

 

Advanced features simplify system integration. Each input provides built-in cable equalization to increase cable lengths to 50 meters without the need for external extenders. Output connectors can supply up to 4 amps of 5Volt power for pin-powered devices such as cables or extenders, obviating the need for external power supplies. A front panel LCD display provides quick access to system information.

 

Remote control is via Ethernet and RS-232 serial ports. An internal server is accessible from any web browser; no special software is required on the user's PC. And lastly, Total EDID Manager eliminates the need for external EDID emulators.

The Linx 800 is available in several standard configurations, with custom configurations also available. Systems are field upgradeable.

 

Packaged in a rugged 2RU steel chassis with forced-air cooling, the Linx 1600 DVI switcher provides an unmatched combination of performance, features, robust construction and ease of use.
